FAQs

How do I care for my candle?

We recommend burning your candle for the first time so that the wax burns evenly. Having a flat surface after each burn will prevent tunneling and unused wax build up.

It’s also important to trim your wicks ¼” after each use. This reduces the soot and therefore keeps the vessel’s interior cleaner.

What are those “wet spots” in my candle?

Those air pockets, or “wet spots,” are due to the way the wax cools in the vessel. During the candle making process, when the hot wax is initially poured into the vessel, it expands into the glass. When it cools, the wax shrinks causing those air pockets.

Because we use minimal branding and screen printed vessels instead of labels, you are able to see more of the “guts” of the candle. Although displeasing to the eye, it does not affect the candle’s burn quality. It’s just, well, candle science!
